Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will perform a wide range of laboratory tests and procedures to support patient diagnosis, treatment, and research initiatives. Your expertise in laboratory techniques, specimen processing, and data management will contribute directly to accurate clinical assessments and innovative research projects. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for precision, a strong foundation in clinical laboratory practices, and a proactive approach to laboratory management. Responsibilities Collect, process, and analyze biological specimens including blood, tissue, and other bodily fluids using techniques such as venipuncture, blood sampling, and specimen processing. Conduct laboratory assays including ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay), PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction), flow cytometry, immunoassays, and RNA extraction to support diagnostic testing and research studies. Manage laboratory information systems (LIS) for accurate data entry, tracking samples, and generating reports essential for clinical trials and research projects. Perform routine laboratory procedures adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols to ensure specimen integrity and personnel safety. Maintain detailed records of laboratory activities, quality control measures, and equipment calibration in compliance with regulatory standards. Assist with laboratory management tasks such as inventory control, equipment maintenance, and ensuring compliance with hospital or clinical laboratory policies. Support clinical staff by providing technical expertise in blood banking, physiology knowledge, and laboratory techniques necessary for patient care.
Requirements Certification:
ASCP, AMT, or equivalent required. 7a-6p M-F 10 hr shift Proven experience in a clinical or research laboratory setting with knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy. Proficiency in laboratory techniques including DNA isolation, blood banking procedures, immunoassays, PCR, ELISA, flow cytometry, and RNA extraction. Strong data analysis skills with experience using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) or similar software platforms. Hands-on experience with specimen collection/processing methods such as venipuncture and phlebotomy. Knowledge of hospital or clinical laboratory procedures including vital signs monitoring and blood sampling protocols. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy and safety. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals and research teams. Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or equivalent credential is required; additional certifications related to blood banking or molecular diagnostics are a plus.
