Full-Time Overview TempsPlus Employment Services is hiring a Field/Laboratory Technician for a respected engineering and materials testing company in Paducah, KY. This position is responsible for performing field and laboratory testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, and rock materials to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with backgrounds in construction, manufacturing, quality control, engineering support, mechanical work, or laboratory testing. Previous experience is preferred but not required. Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided. Responsibilities Perform laboratory testing on soil, aggregate, concrete, and rock samples Conduct field testing and material sampling at construction and industrial job sites Perform field density testing and concrete testing Operate, calibrate, inspect, and maintain testing equipment Record, organize, and document testing results accurately Prepare field and laboratory reports for review Follow ASTM, AASHTO, and company testing procedures Adhere to all safety policies and quality control standards Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and work areas Assist project teams and field personnel as needed Obtain and maintain required industry certifications Qualifications Required High School Diploma or GED Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to follow written procedures and instructions Ability to work independently and as part of a team Reliable transportation Willingness to work in both laboratory and outdoor environments Commitment to safety and quality standards Preferred Construction materials testing experience Manufacturing, quality control, or laboratory experience ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Certification ACI Aggregate Base Testing Technician Certification Knowledge of ASTM and AASHTO testing standards Experience working on construction sites Work Environment Indoor laboratory and outdoor field work Active construction sites, roadways, and industrial facilities Exposure to varying weather conditions Work around heavy equipment and machinery Local travel to project sites as needed Occasional overtime, night work, or flexible scheduling based on project demands Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions Ability to perform physically demanding tasks safely Benefits Paid training provided Opportunity to earn industry-recognized certifications Career growth opportunities within a growing industry Stable, full-time position
