Laboratory Technician - Data Review

Job Description

Schedule:
Wednesday - Sunday 9:00 am - 5:30 pm
Essential Functions:
This is NOT a remote position. MUST have experience in performing data analysis on an
LC-MS/MS.
Only applicants with experience will be considered. Analyze
LC-MS/MS
data as well as immunoassay screening results. Review and release patient reports utilizing immunoassay screenings and
LC-MS/MS
confirmation testing results, in a high-throughput toxicology laboratory. Review reports individually, checking for correct complete information, all ordered tests, and that results correspond to established norms. Document and maintain rigorous QA/QC records including, corrective action reports, Levey-Jennings reports, lot records, repeat and rejected sample logs. Understands and adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, and OSHA guidelines and help maintain compliance as needed. Utilize established protocols to confirm retention time, precursor and product ions, and qualifier ions are within established ranges for peak qualification and note any discrepancies. Identify patient samples requiring re-injections or re-extractions. Program re-injections to run on the mass spec instruments. Help perform maintenance on LC-MS/MS and EIA Analyzers and other laboratory duties when needed. Transmit completed data analysis to the Laboratory Information System (LIS). Assist in proficiency testing, monitoring of daily controls, and be responsible for operating within the established quality controls parameters, including the recognition of invalid data and bringing all errors to the supervisor's attention. Participate in continuing education and attend meetings as required. Participate in team-oriented projects for the development and implementation of new testing methodologies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Help with documentation, inventory and other laboratory administrative duties.
Qualifications:
Master's or Bachelor's degree in a Biological Science or related science from an accredited institution is required. Requires understanding of drug metabolism. Experience with Shimadzu's
LC-MS/MS
& Lab Solutions software, Beckman Coulter AU 480 analyzers, and LIS systems is preferred. Previous experience in
LC-MS/MS
data review in an accredited laboratory is preferred. One or more years of
CLIA/CAP
accredited, clinical laboratory experience is required. Experience in clinical toxicology, including enzyme immunoassay screening, and
LC-MS/MS
confirmation testing is required. Understanding of
LC-MS/MS
operating principles & methodology is required.
