Job Description

Job Overview Acting under the supervision of the lead prep technician, this position performs routine prep of coal, coke, minerals, rocks, soil, aggregates, recycled materials, etc samples in preparation for lab analysis. This position reports to the Lead Prep Technician. Duties Perform routine sample preparation in accordance with analytical methodologies and CTL's SOPs. There are times when you must be able to lift 50 pounds or more numerous times throughout the day. Qualify through performance of an initial DOC and annual recertification for the methodologies performed. Routinely meet all of the QA/QC requirements for the analyses performed. Conform to all the safety requirements outlined in the Health and Safety Handbook and/or the analytical method. Perform sample prep in a timely fashion meeting project due dates. Keep accurate documentation on all data and conditions under which it was performed. Adjust, clean, or repair products or processing equipment to correct defects found during inspections. Monitor machines that automatically measure, sort, or collect products. Weigh materials, products, containers, or samples to verify packaging weights quantities. Perform and document daily calibration checks. Perform and document routine equipment maintenance. Notify supervisor regarding equipment and/or sample issues. Follow up on corrective actions and institute preventative actions to ensure issues are resolved. Clean up after completion of analysis and keep work areas neat and tidy. Effectively communicate with employees in all work areas regarding the status of samples/projects. Work as a team member with all CTL employees. Promote a positive attitude regarding CTL's policies and procedures. Additional duties as requested or required by management. Requirements High school Diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license. Basis computer skills. Willing to work early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays. The ability to work well with others.
Pay:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 45.0 per week
