Job DescriptionLaboratory Technician -

Jackson, TNPosition Summary:

Perform laboratory duties, data entry and tracking, positive release, back-fill lab techs, product retesting, sample collection and testing, incoming ingredient and packaging release, perform training as needed, and other duties, as assigned.

Job Responsibilities:

Perform analytical testing on all outgoing orders adhering to documented laboratory procedureDocument results, prepare Certificate of AnalysisRetain samples of tested product to confirm results and rotate when necessaryPrepare chemical reagents for analytical tests and monitor chemical and lab supplies inventoryMonitor, operate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment, calibrate when applicableFollow all safety and environmental rules and regulations applicable to positionAdhere to and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)Must be able to write clearlyMust be able to communicate effectively with other departments, management, and employees and notifying appropriate teams of non-conformance and other concernsMust have knowledge of positive release for food safetyMust have knowledge of the retention sampling procedureMust have working knowledge of sampling process, retain, customer sampling requestsAttend and complete weekly/monthly safety and quality trainingsPerform additional duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

Minimum of high school diploma or GED required

Preferred:

food manufacturing and analytical laboratory experiencePosition requires proficiency in MS Office and basic PC skillsMust be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentHACCP certified or experienced knowledge

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time while performing job dutiesAbility to lift and carry 50 lbs. On a regular basisAbility to climb multiple flights of stairsAbility to work in cold, hot, and dusty environments
