Job Description

Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding school-based nursing role supporting the well-being of students in a vibrant educational environment near Norwich, CT. This contract opportunity offers the chance to serve as a substitute Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) within a collaborative district team, working on a flexible, as-needed basis. In this position, you'll serve once per week as a substitute nurse and provide coverage during the absences of the district's regular nursing staff. Your expertise will help ensure the continuity of health care services, supporting students' day-to-day medical needs and responding promptly to any health concerns.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Active LPN or LVN license in good standing in Connecticut. Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred. Current CPR/BLS certification. Strong communication, organization, and multitasking abilities. Comfort working independently and adapting to changing daily needs. Ability to develop rapport with students, staff, and families.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer routine medications and treatments as prescribed. Document student health information following district policies. Provide first aid and manage minor injuries or illness. Collaborate with school personnel to support student health plans. Communicate professionally with parents/guardians as needed. Maintain a clean, safe, and confidential health office environment.
