Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team in a part-time capacity. This role involves providing high-quality patient care during morning shifts from 6AM to 2PM, every other weekend. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to enhancing patient well-being. As an LPN, you will support our multidisciplinary team by delivering comprehensive nursing services, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and fostering a safe and caring environment for all patients. Responsibilities Perform patient assessments, including vital signs, intake, and physical examinations, ensuring accurate documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems. Administer medications and injections following prescribed protocols while adhering to HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Assist with medical procedures such as catheterization, venipuncture, sterile processing, and tube feeding as required. Monitor patients' conditions closely, including managing acute pain and airway management for individuals with complex needs such as dementia or Alzheimer's care. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to patients' needs in settings like long-term care, assisted living, or skilled nursing facilities. Ensure infection control practices are maintained consistently to promote a safe environment for patients and staff. Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding care plans, treatment options, and health coaching to promote understanding and compliance. Experience Prior experience working in medical-surgical units, long-term care facilities, or assisted living environments is highly desirable. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate medical documentation. Knowledge of
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding for medical records management is preferred. Experience in acute care settings such as hospitals or emergency rooms is advantageous, especially with trauma center or ICU experience. Familiarity with specialized areas including dementia care, hospice care, infectious disease management, or pediatric nursing is a plus. Proven ability to work effectively with geriatric patients and individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges. Certification in basic life support (BLS) and sterile technique is required; additional certifications in IV infusion or advanced wound care are beneficial. Join our team to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients through compassionate nursing care delivered during the early morning hours. We value professionalism, dedication, and a proactive approach to healthcare excellence!
