1:1 LPN

General Description:

The Nurse (LPN) will provide 1:1 medical and ADL support for a student with specialized health care needs. This position will also support the student with accommodations in the special education classroom for the student to access learning.

Qualifications:
  • Possession of a valid Commonwealth of Massachusetts license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • Valid and current certification in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and AED from a recognized provider (e.g., American Heart Association).
  • Nursing experience in community or child health. Experience in pediatrics is preferred.
  • Understanding of child growth and development
  • Ability to think critically and react decisively in emergency situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to be an effective communicator with students, staff members, and parents and able to maintain confidentiality.
Physical Demands:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, kneel, and talk or hear.
  • In an emergency, must be able to respond to the location quickly.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pound and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.
