Duties/Responsibilities:
- Administers medications noting times and amounts on patients' charts.
- Observes patients, charting and reporting changes in conditions such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment and takes necessary actions.
- Answers patients' calls and determines how to assist them.
- Assist with personal care when needed.
- Coordinate personal care services with other departments or disciplines.
- Measures and records patients' vital signs such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
- Provides basic patient care or treatments such as taking temperatures or blood pressures, dressing wounds, or treating bedsores.
- Works as part of a health care team to assess patient needs, plans and modify care, and implements interventions.
- Evaluates nursing intervention outcomes, conferring with other health care team members.
- Assembles and uses equipment such respiratory supplies.
- Records food on a regular basis and fluid intake for specialty diets as directed by provider.
- Greets residents, visitors, and staff with courtesy and professionalism.
- Respect the dignity and confidentiality standards and promote resident rights.
- Follow facility fire safety and infection control practices
- Promptly report any unsafe conditions or equipment and fill out proper forms.
- Report all incidents and accidents including the completion of appropriate documentation.
- Performance of emergency first aid procedures when appropriate, including basic first aid evaluations of vital signs, CPR, and Heimlich maneuver, etc..
- Assist with new admissions, discharges and transfers, as directed by the House Manager or Administrator.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work quickly and efficiently.
- Must be able to work well as part of a team.
- Must be able to work well under pressure.
- General knowledge of nursing and health care terminology.
- Excellent patient care skills.
Education and Experience:
- Postsecondary certificate from vocational school or Associate's degree in nursing required.
- Current State licensure required.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- May required prolonged periods of standing, moving and bending.

- Residents always come first, and their needs will be met unless there is a conflict with the needs of others or the organization as a whole.
- Employees will not work under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol.
- Neat appearance, adherence to the dress code, and good personal hygiene are expected .
Important NotificationAt no time shall you be permitted to leave the home without being properly relieved. If you leave the home without proper substitute supervision, we will notify the appropriate authority for consideration of criminal charges of neglect and abuse.
Pay:
$35.00 - $50.00 per hour
