POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT
The Certified Medical Assistant, or Registered Medical Assistant, assists physicians and professional staff with delegated responsibilities to provide quality services to all customers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This role requires a BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross required and maintained. On-line BLS certification is not acceptable.
Must meet one of the following: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing. Must maintain a current state license of practical nursing. OR Medical Assistant (MA): Graduate from a Medical Assisting program accredited by "The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
Previous experience in a clinic setting
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Assists the medical staff to help patients maintain health or promote healing. Performs patient care duties with infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
Performs technical skills specific to assigned service area and other areas as appropriate
Provides quality service to all internal customers. Assists all support service areas, as needed.
Provides excellent customer service to patients, families and internal contacts using AIDET.
Accepts responsibility for professional growth and continuing education
Accepts responsibility and assures quality, cost effective patient care
Accepts responsibility for communication with all customers. Uses proper verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with patients, families and other health disciplines to support the continuum of healthcare delivery.
Performs all other related duties as assigned.
