This is a one-on-one position where you'll have the chance to build a meaningful, supportive relationship with your patient, ensuring their safety, comfort, and health throughout the school day.
Responsibilities:
As a 1:1 Licensed Practical Nurse specializing in pediatric care, you will: Conduct health assessments and provide medical care to students as needed. Administer medications and treatments following physician orders and state regulations. Monitor and record vital signs, symptoms, and medical history. Assist students with chronic illnesses in managing their conditions while at school. Provide first aid and immediate care for injuries or sudden illnesses. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, school counselors, and administrators to ensure students' well-being. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations in all health-related matters. Participate in emergency drills and crisis intervention when necessary. To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications : Current License Practical Nurse license in the state of Virginia. Pediatric nursing experience preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Compassion and empathy for working with children and their families. Ability to work in a fast-paced school environment.
