Recanto Brazilian Massage Studio | Burr Ridge, IL Recanto Brazilian Massage Studio is a growing, independently owned massage and wellness studio in Burr Ridge focused on providing a highly personalized, premium client experience. We offer Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage, prenatal massage, and other specialized treatments in a private studio environment. We are a young business experiencing strong growth and are now looking for a part-time Licensed Massage Therapist to grow with us. About the Opportunity We want to be transparent about where we are as a business. Recanto is still a startup, and we are hiring an additional therapist because we are beginning to reach the point where our current schedule cannot accommodate all of our clients. This will initially be an appointment-driven, part-time position, rather than a traditional fixed schedule with guaranteed weekly hours. The therapist may begin by serving overflow clients, new clients, waitlist requests, and appointments during higher-demand periods. As the therapist develops repeat clients and Recanto continues to grow, we expect the position to develop into a more consistent schedule. Because of this, flexibility is one of the most important qualities we are looking for. This opportunity is best suited for someone who is comfortable starting with a variable schedule and wants the opportunity to build a strong recurring clientele within a growing independent studio. Compensation Therapists are paid a fixed amount per completed treatment: 60-minute treatment: $50 90-minute treatment: $70 120-minute treatment: $90 100% of client gratuities go to the therapist Recanto has developed a clientele that tends to tip generously, although gratuities are never guaranteed and will vary by therapist and client. Required meetings, training, and assigned non-treatment work outside normal appointment duties are paid separately at $20 per hour. How Appointment Pay Works The per-treatment rate includes the treatment itself as well as normal appointment-related responsibilities such as: Greeting and offboarding clients Brief intake and consultation Treatment notes Changing linens Cleaning and resetting the treatment room Preparing for the next client Recanto typically allows approximately 30 minutes between appointments for these responsibilities. If there is a longer gap between appointments and the therapist is completely relieved of duty, they are free to leave the studio or use that time for personal purposes. If Recanto requires the therapist to remain available or perform additional work during a longer gap, that time will be compensated at the applicable non-treatment hourly rate. What Recanto Provides Private professional treatment space Massage table and equipment Linens and treatment supplies Online scheduling and payment processing Client acquisition and marketing Existing and growing client base Opportunity to develop repeat and recurring clients No requirement to bring an existing book of business No product sales quotas Opportunity for increased hours as demand grows Potential training in additional Recanto treatment techniques What We're Looking For Active Illinois Massage Therapy License Strong Swedish and Deep Tissue massage skills Professional, dependable, and client-focused Ability to customize treatments rather than follow a one-size-fits-all routine Strong communication and interpersonal skills Comfortable working independently Reliable and punctual Interested in developing long-term client relationships Comfortable working within Recanto's service standards and client experience Flexible availability and comfortable with a schedule that will develop as demand grows Portuguese-speaking highly preferred; bilingual English/Portuguese candidates are especially encouraged to apply Experience with sports massage, prenatal massage, cupping, lymphatic drainage, or other specialized modalities is a plus, but not required. Schedule Part-time / Appointment Driven The initial schedule will vary based on client demand. Daytime, evening, and Saturday availability is especially valuable. As client demand and the therapist's repeat clientele increase, we expect to establish more consistent recurring shifts. Because we are still growing, this position is best suited for someone who does not require a guaranteed number of weekly hours immediately. About Recanto The word Recanto means a peaceful refuge.
