Job Description

Massage Therapist Job Description:

The Spa at The Martha Washington, Abingdon, Virginia is hiring a licensed massage service professional who specializes in massage services & treatments. Massage Therapist responsibilities include treating clients by using touch to manipulate the muscles and other soft tissues of the body. With their touch, therapists relieve pain, help heal injuries, improve circulation, relieve stress, increase relaxation, and aid in the general wellness of clients. We require valid Virginia massage licensing. Looking for a highly motivated individual who is available immediately. Our therapists are w-2 based receiving competitive commission rates per massage + gratuity.

Duties:

Talk with clients about their symptoms, medical history, and desired results
Evaluate clients to locate painful or tense areas of the body
Manipulate muscles and other soft tissues of the body
Review & document clients' conditions
Use touch to treat clients' injuries, issues and to promote the clients' general wellness
Talk with clients about what they hope to achieve through their massage service
Suggest personalized treatment plans for their clients, including information about additional relaxation techniques to practice between sessions
Excellent customer service, communication skills
Handle the clients with great care and develop good relationships
Team player and flexible with many working conditions
Practice efficient duties and tasks
Have completed safety training and certifications
State of Virginia license
Hold active liability insurance
Openness to learning new ideas and techniques
Attention to detail
Cleanliness and good personal grooming
Must offer retail sales to clients
Follow Martha protocols as suggested by management
Work by appointment only & hours may vary each week
Communication skills to listen to client's needs during service
Must offer clients a positive experience
Light cleaning duties/ laundry

$40.00 - $100.00 per hour
