Licensed Massage Therapist - Independent Contractor (L&I) Body Wellness Massage LLC is looking for an experienced and reliable Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) to join our practice as an independent contractor. Requirements Active Washington State Massage Therapist license Individual NPI number Currently credentialed with Washington State L&I / ProviderOne preferred Professional liability insurance Reliable, professional, and comfortable working with injury-rehabilitation clients Experience with L&I, auto-injury, deep tissue, therapeutic, and injury-focused massage is a plus Good documentation and SOAP note skills Position This is an independent contractor position with flexible scheduling. You will provide therapeutic massage to clients, including Washington State L&I patients. Our office provides the treatment space and established client base. Compensation and schedule will be discussed based on experience and availability. Duties Perform a variety of massage techniques including Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, sports massage, prenatal massage, and medical massage to address client-specific concerns. Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine appropriate treatment plans based on individual physiology and health history. Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs, explain treatment options, and provide guidance on post-massage care. Maintain detailed documentation of treatments performed, client progress, and any relevant medical or physiological information. Ensure a safe and hygienic environment by adhering to sanitation standards and following occupational health protocols. Stay current with industry best practices and expand your skills through ongoing education in areas such as pain management, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology. Promote a positive customer service experience by demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and active listening during each session. Qualifications Valid state licensure or certification as a Massage Therapist with demonstrated expertise in various massage modalities. Proven experience in patient service with strong client communication skills. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and pain management techniques. Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) from an approved organization. Experience with specialized massage techniques such as trigger point therapy, prenatal massage, sports massage, deep tissue massage, and Swedish massage preferred. Familiarity with occupational health standards and med spa environments is a plus. Ability to assess patient needs accurately and adapt treatments accordingly while maintaining professionalism at all times.
