In this vital role, you'll serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional service while supporting clinical operations. Your multitasking skills and medical knowledge will help ensure smooth day-to-day functions within a fast-paced medical environment, fostering a welcoming atmosphere for all patients and staff. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with check-in procedures using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and coordinate follow-up visits to optimize clinic operations. Collect patient vital signs, perform basic clinical tasks under supervision, and document medical histories accurately. Assist healthcare providers with clinical duties including taking patient histories, preparing exam rooms, and supporting procedures in dermatology, internal medicine, or urgent care settings. Maintain organized medical records, ensure compliance with medical documentation standards, and update electronic health records efficiently. Support administrative tasks such as answering phones, managing patient inquiries, verifying insurance information, and processing billing or ICD coding for diagnoses. Adhere to safety protocols including Basic Life Support (BLS), infection control practices, and emergency response procedures in outpatient or inpatient environments. Qualifications Proven experience in a medical office setting with knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology. Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are a plus. Strong understanding of medical-surgical procedures, hospital medicine, geriatrics, or internal medicine enhances your fit for this role. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately across diverse populations. Familiarity with ICD coding, medical documentation standards, and outpatient/inpatient clinic workflows is highly desirable. Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
