Full Job Description Position:
Medical Assistant/Receptionist A medical assistant performs routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the physician's office and other health practitioners running smoothly. The medical assistant also performs clinical duties under the legal umbrella of the medical practitioner.
GENERAL POSITION RESPONSABILITIES.
The medical Assistants will perform various administrative and clinical duties under the direction of the administration and the physician. Schedule appointments Maintain Medical Records Do some billing and coding for certain visits and procedures Answering calls for appointments Assist the clinician in examining and treating the patient ( ear lavage, collection of vital signs.
SKILLS AND SPECIFICATIONS.
Medical assistants must have experience working with EMR in particular ecw. ( e clinical works). MA will show the rooms for examination and will prepare them for the doctor. Interview patients to get medical info and also measure vital signs, Height, and weight and document them in the medical records. Record medical history, medications, test results, and vitals in the medical records. Collection of laboratory specimens. Phlebotomy skills are a must. Explaining procedures to patients. Authorize the refills for drugs and provide prescription information to the pharmacies. MA should have good communication skills and must be caring toward patients. They should be willing to work under pressure. MAs must be understanding and answer all questions of the patients as simply as possible. They must use discretion while maintaining patient confidentiality. Task management skills. Computer literacy.
