Job Description
Join our growing healthcare team as a Part-Time Medical Assistant. This role supports both clinical patient care and front desk operations in a primary care, wellness, and aesthetics setting. Prior medical office, outpatient clinic, or Medical Assistant experience is required. The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish, professional, reliable, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a small but growing medical practice. At least initially, this position will be responsible for front desk duties in addition to clinical Medical Assistant duties. Front desk responsibilities include greeting patients, answering phones, scheduling appointments, assisting with check-in/check-out, verifying patient information, preparing patient charts in the EMR, collecting payments, scanning/uploading documents, and helping maintain an organized patient flow. Clinical duties include rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, updating patient information in the EMR, preparing exam/procedure rooms, assisting with patient flow, and supporting the provider during in-office procedures. The role may also include assisting with blood draws, EKGs, specimen collection, point-of-care testing, urinalysis, injections, and other basic clinical tasks based on training, competency, and clinic protocols.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical office, outpatient clinic, primary care, urgent care, family medicine, internal medicine, wellness clinic, or similar healthcare setting.
- Bilingual English/Spanish required.
- Experience rooming patients and obtaining vital signs required.
- EMR/EHR experience required; eClinicalWorks experience preferred.
- Strong computer skills and ability to document accurately.
- Excellent customer service and patient communication skills.
- Professional, punctual, dependable, and able to multitask.
- Comfortable assisting with both front desk and clinical duties.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant certification, such as CCMA, CMA, RMA, or equivalent.
- Phlebotomy/lab draw experience.
- Experience preparing and handling lab specimens for LabCorp, Quest, or similar laboratories.
- EKG experience.
- BLS/CPR certification.
- Experience with injections, urinalysis, rapid testing, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing.
- Experience in primary care, urgent care, aesthetics, wellness, IV therapy, or weight loss clinics.
