Job Description
Assist staff as necessary and according to the level of certification or training achieved.
- Receive medical supplies and store them properly. Provide accurate documentation and inventory.
- Transcribe prescription requests and enter information into log; create labels and Medication Administration Records.
- Initiates health records for inmates/detainees. Maintains confidentiality of all medical record information. Monitors and maintains accountability for all health records on file.
- Pulls and prepares health records for practitioners (medical, dental and mental health), sick call, chronic care visits and transfers.
- Files loose paperwork and performs other clerical duties as assigned.
- Ensure medical supply cart, trauma bag, the PPE room and the facility first aid kits are fully and accurately stocked at all times.
- Submit order forms for medical and office supplies, under supervision of Registered Nurse and Physician.
- Assist with maintenance of the Sick Call, Chronic Clinic, and Specialty Logs.
- Provide patient care according to nurse or physician instructions and appropriate to level of training.
- Perform 15-minute checks on identified patients and document encounters.
- It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
