Job Purpose/Nature of Work:
Responsible for providing lab services for all patient services; assisting with various patient exams; researching, ordering, and receiving supply orders for the clinic; assisting front desk team; and performing other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
⦁ Phlebotomy skills ⦁ Performs opening and closing medical assistant duties ⦁ Provides lab services for all patient services ⦁ Maintains accurate records and documentation in client files, quality assurance records, and control/temperature logs ⦁ Performs routine instrument maintenance and sterilization ⦁ Assists with patient exams ⦁ Orders, receives, and maintains a well-stocked exam room and lab in coordination with the Charge Nurse ⦁ Makes Charge Nurse aware of any customer service issues ⦁ Willing to cross-train to assist with patient registration and front desk operations, telephone operations, visitor management and security compliance, billing, and records management ⦁ Complies with all WHC protocols regarding patient identification and confidentiality ⦁ Works with staff, clients, and others in a professional, cooperative manner and according to all policies of the
WHC Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
⦁ High school diploma or GED ⦁ Medical assisting certification ⦁ Must hold a current Point of Care Technician Maryland license ⦁ Compliance with OSHA regulations regarding Universal Precautions and all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations ⦁ Knowledge and use of electronic medical records ⦁ Background in pregnancy issues, health care issues, and reproductive health
