Millersville, MD Job Description:

Innovative Urgent Care is seeking a friendly and reliable Front Desk Receptionist and Medical Assistant. No medical training or background is required, but prior experience in a medical office or urgent care environment is preferred. This position offers a great opportunity for someone looking to work in a dynamic healthcare setting with flexible responsibilities. The schedule for this position is Monday, Tuesday every other Wednesday and every other weekend. Weekdays are 8a to 8p, weekends are 9a to 5p.

Responsibilities:

Greet and check in patients for urgent care and physical therapy services Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient records Take patient vital signs as needed Occasionally assist with running lab tests when the office is busy (training provided) Maintain a clean and organized front desk area Assist with other administrative and clinical tasks as needed Room patients and obtain vital signs Document chief complaint and history in EMR Prepare exam rooms and maintain cleanliness Assist providers with exams and procedures Perform point-of-care testing (strep, flu, COVID, urine, etc.) Collect and process lab specimens Administer injections and vaccinations per protocol Perform EKGs and other diagnostic testing Assist with splinting, wound care, and dressing changes Stock exam rooms and monitor medical supplies

Qualifications:

Experience working in a medical office or urgent care environment is preferred Familiarity with eClinicalWorks (preferred but not required) Strong organizational and multitasking skills Friendly, patient-focused demeanor with excellent communication skills Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus Willingness to learn new skills and assist with various tech tasks Must be available to work 9a to 5p on Saturday and/or Sunday If you are a team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment, we encourage you to apply!
