Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments in specialties such as dermatology, internal medicine, urgent care, and hospital medicine. Take and record accurate vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature. Prepare patients for exams by obtaining medical histories and documenting symptoms using electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems). Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy (blood draws), medication administration under supervision, and basic life support (BLS) procedures. Manage medical documentation meticulously, including ICD coding for diagnoses and updating medical records in compliance with privacy regulations. Support patient intake processes by verifying insurance information, updating medical histories, and scheduling follow-up appointments. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards. Qualifications Valid certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program; additional certifications in phlebotomy or medication administration are a plus. 2+ years proven experience in Primary Care. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and ICD coding practices. Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately across diverse populations. Ability to perform clinical procedures such as vital signs collection, specimen collection (phlebotomy), and basic emergency response techniques like BLS. Familiarity with medical office management tasks including appointment scheduling, medical records maintenance, and insurance verification.
