Veterinarian - Medical Director - Arvada, CO A veterinary practice is seeking an experienced Medical Director to provide high-quality medical care while leading and mentoring the clinical team. This role combines hands-on general medicine and surgery with team leadership, clinical development, client communication, and practice compliance. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive veterinary examinations, diagnostics, medical, surgical, and dental procedures. Diagnose conditions, develop treatment plans, and explain findings and recommendations to clients. Maintain accurate patient medical and surgical records. Lead, mentor, and develop associate veterinarians and clinical team members. Provide feedback and support to improve medical quality, teamwork, client service, documentation, and efficiency. Support the development of veterinary technicians and assistants. Promote consistent, high-quality patient care and minimize patient stress and discomfort. Stay current with developments in veterinary medicine and participate in continuing education. Oversee applicable safety, operating, and regulatory compliance procedures. Manage controlled-substance accountability and related records when designated. Support ordering, storage, inventory, reconciliation, and disposal of controlled substances in accordance with applicable requirements. Collaborate with veterinary professionals and practice leadership. Travel as needed. Qualifications DVM, VMD, or equivalent veterinary degree from an accredited program. Active veterinary license or eligibility to obtain one. Required professional credentials and licenses. Previous experience in veterinary medicine. Leadership or team-management experience preferred. Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Compassionate and client-focused approach to veterinary care.
