Job Description

Practice Manager Join UConn Health Waterbury as a Practice Manager and play an integral role in the successful operations of our medical practices. We are seeking an experienced, organized, and collaborative leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of a medical office and support the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. This position will provide practice leadership and oversight for our Pediatrics, Neurology, and Rheumatology practices. Reporting to the Vice President of Physician Practices, the Practice Manager will be responsible for staff management, practice operations, financial performance, patient and employee satisfaction, and electronic medical record functions. Key Responsibilities Oversee the daily operations of the medical office, including staff supervision, workflow, productivity, and delivery of services within established budgetary guidelines. Monitor financial operations, including cash control policies, daily deposits, productivity, operating expenses, and financial reporting. Lead staff management activities, including hiring, payroll, performance reviews, coaching, evaluations, performance improvement, and disciplinary actions. Monitor employee and patient satisfaction, staff turnover, and overall practice performance. Maintain practice standards established by the Executive Committee and administrative leadership. Plan, organize, facilitate, and report on regular staff and provider meetings to promote effective communication among physicians, advanced practice providers, and administrative staff. Oversee Electronic Medical Record (EMR) functions, including appointment scheduling, system maintenance, staff training, and reporting of system errors. Coordinate hardware maintenance, upkeep, and inventory for each practice location. If coding certified, participate in delegated coding projects, attend coding meetings as required, and maintain applicable coding credentials. Foster a collaborative, patient-focused environment while ensuring efficient and effective practice operations. Qualifications & Skills Knowledge of the financial operations of a medical practice. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of medical information, healthcare operations, and electronic medical record systems. Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills, including the ability to resolve issues, build effective working relationships, and train staff. Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of physicians, providers, employees, patients, and other stakeholders. Strong organizational skills with the ability to organize, prioritize, delegate, and assign work effectively. Ability to adapt to changing priorities, processes, and organizational needs.
