The Medical Records Technician performs medical records functions including but not limited to: Retrieval and electronic filing of medical records.
POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES
Utilizes a variety of EMR systems with competence to access patient records, demographic information, and to problem-solve patient identification, and other relevant investigative issues. Travels to medical offices to retrieve medical records; works closely with medical office staff to facilitate retrieval according to their established and required protocols. Scans/transfers files within expected timeframes while observing HIPAA-compliant processes. Maintains equipment according to guidelines, and communicates all issues to supervisor. Works with other departments as directed in a collaborative effort to maintain all stored medical records. Reviews medical records for accuracy and completeness. Organizes and evaluates both physical and electronic versions of medical records. Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent - Required. Previous experience in a medical group/office preferred. Intermediate to advance computer skills. Working knowledge of scanning and medical terminology. Ability to file accurately using electronic, alphabetical, numeric, and color-coded systems. Detail-oriented with good organizational skills. Good inter-personal communication skills. Current Arizona Driver's license and proof of insurance required. •This role requires 60 days FT in office presence, hybrid options will be available after the 60-day period.• Compensation range: The hourly range for this position is: $20 - $21.50 .
