_PARAGRAPH JOB_DESCRIPTION.SHARE.HTML Midland, Michigan Clerical/Admin Support 8-12pm Part-Time Day Shift Health Information Services 47448 Job Description Summary This position assumes responsibility for working together as a team to by performing analysis tasks, birth certificate completions, the merging of medical record numbers, release of information and diagnostic verification as assigned. Responsibilities (60%)
  • Primary Job Function as assigned - from the following list; performing analysis tasks, birth certificate completions, the merging of medical record numbers, release of information and diagnostic verification as assigned. (20%)
  • Chart prep, Quality Checking, scanning and validation. Other clerical duties as needed. (20%)
  • Answering phone and working with internal and external customers.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Chart prepping, scanning, QC and Validation. Covering other areas of the clerical and Clerk 1 duties as needed. Maintains departmental customer relation will all customers such as patients, physicians, other health care professional, general public and MyMichigan Health affiliates. Works with non-clerical (coders, transcriptions, charge capture analysis, mpi coordinator) health information staff in the course of their daily duties. All other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND SKILLS
Interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals, with groups, on the phone, in writing, and interact with people at all levels to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner. PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as, trauma, grief and death. Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position. Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description. Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device(s). Frequently required to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. May require frequent postural changes such as stooping, kneeling or crouching. Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material. Must follow MyMichigan Health bloodborne pathogen and TB testing as required. Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake. Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis.
