Job Description

Clark County Rehab & Living Center is seeking a full-time Health Information Clerk to start as soon as possible.
DUTIES:
The Health Information Clerk is responsible for various tasks related to the confidential maintenance of facility health/medical records and protected health information in nursing home, ICF/IID (FDD) & CBRF settings with specific focus on release of information, admission/discharge processing & filing. This individual will work under minimal supervision and
CONFIDENTIALITY
is a must.
REQUIREMENTS
1. High school diploma or its equivalent. Specialized advanced vocational courses in areas applicable to the position, i.e. release of information, preferred. 2. One year prior experience working in a similar field. 3. Basic knowledge of computer technology & office machines with the ability to effectively utilize various software programs. 4. Basic knowledge of various State/Federal regulations including but not limited to HIPAA, QAPI, release of information & the MDS process. 5. High-level skills in typing including proper use of grammar, spelling & punctuation as well as basic mathematical skills. 6. Ability to interact positively with others & learn new jobs, functions or processes as needed. 7. Ability to work independantly & adequately organize as well as prioritize duties when necessary. 8. Demonstrate accuracy, dependability, flexibility, integrity, a strong work ethic & a high regard for confidentiality. Applicants who meet the minimal training and/or experience will be tested as part of the interview process. 80% accuracy required on the following: general health information knowledge, alphabetizing, numeric ordering, etc. This is a County position with excellent benefits including: WRS retirement system with 100% match
