You will handle a variety of front desk duties, coordinate appointments, manage medical records, and support clinical staff with efficient administrative processes. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally, providing excellent customer service and guiding them through check-in and check-out procedures Schedule appointments accurately using electronic health record (EHR) system Athena health Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility and benefits verification to ensure smooth billing processes Collect patient information, update medical records, and review documentation for accuracy and completeness Manage multi-line phone systems with courteous phone etiquette, answering inquiries promptly and directing calls appropriately Assist with medical billing tasks including coding (CPT, ICD), medical collection efforts, and documentation review Maintain organized filing systems for medical records, lab results, and other health information management files in compliance with HIPAA regulations Support clinical staff by preparing care plans, handling intake procedures, and coordinating patient flow. Operate Microsoft Office programs medical practice management software. Ensure compliance with HIPAA privacy standards by safeguarding patient information Skills Proven experience in medical office administration or as a Medical Receptionist in a healthcare setting. Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR Athenahealth. Familiarity with medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), insurance verification, Medicare procedures, and documentation review processes Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; typing speed of at least 70wpm for efficient data entry Solid understanding of medical terminology, and health information management standards Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational skills with experience managing medical records, filing systems, and office workflows Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times Previous medical office experience is mandatory.
