In this vital role, you will be the friendly face and first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a wide range of administrative duties. Duties Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a welcoming environment for all visitors Schedule appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems ECW Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification to ensure accurate billing and claims processing Collect payments and perform medical collections with attention to detail and confidentiality Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently, including intake forms and documentation review Maintain accurate medical records by organizing and updating patient information in various EHR systems like eClinicalWorks Handle phone calls with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and taking detailed messages Assist with medical billing procedures, CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and documentation review to support accurate medical coding and billing processes Clean and organize patient exam rooms and place patient in room Autoclave instruments and ensure exam rooms are always stocked Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information at all times Experience Prior clinic or medical office experience is essential Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and Medicare guidelines is a plus Experience working with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, eClinicalWorks is highly desirable Bilingual abilities (English and Spanish) is a must to serve diverse patient populations effectively Demonstrated proficiency in medical billing, insurance verification, and health information management Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally Strong computer skills including typing (10 key), Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) Office management or clerical experience supporting front desk operations in a busy healthcare setting Join our team to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives while advancing your career in healthcare administration!
