$17.00-$18.00 per hour Position Summary ENT Specialists of North Florida and Meier Plastic Surgery are seeking a professional, friendly, and detail-oriented Medical Front Office Specialist to join our team. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a critical role in creating an exceptional patient experience. The Medical Front Office Specialist is responsible for patient check-in and check-out, scheduling appointments, answering phones, collecting payments, verifying insurance information, and communicating effectively with patients, providers, and staff. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-service oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced medical office environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Develop and maintain proficiency in the Practice Management System. Greet patients in a courteous, professional, and timely manner. Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information. Provide, collect, and review required patient forms and obtain necessary signatures. Answer incoming phone calls promptly and assist patients with scheduling, questions, and requests. Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments. Perform patient check-in and check-out processes accurately. Collect copays, balances, and other patient payments in accordance with office policies. Verify insurance eligibility and obtain authorizations and referrals as required. Assist with scanning, filing, data entry, photocopying, and other administrative tasks. Address patient concerns professionally and escalate issues when appropriate. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with providers and staff to ensure efficient daily operations. Qualifications Preferred Experience Previous medical front office, medical receptionist, or healthcare customer service experience preferred. Experience with insurance verification, referrals, and prior authorizations preferred. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management software preferred. Understanding of PPO, HMO, Medicare, and commercial insurance plans. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multitask in a busy clinical environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality. Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, and office equipment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
