Opportunity to gain experience in a specialized medical practice and advance your healthcare career As a Medical Receptionist, here's a big-picture view of what you'll do: Greet patients with professionalism and warmth, ensuring a positive and efficient check-in/check-out experience Maintain consistent front desk coverage, ensuring patients and phones are always supported; coordinate coverage when stepping away Manage a high-volume phone line, schedule appointments, and respond to patient inquiries with urgency and professionalism Verify insurance coverage, complete verification forms, and accurately enter benefits into the EMR system (Chirotouch experience a plus) Collect co-pays and process payments accurately Maintain and update patient records, ensuring accurate and timely data entry and completion of daily workflows (including new patient checklists) Coordinate referrals, including sending documentation, tracking status, and following up with external provider offices Ensure all patient documents are properly scanned and indexed in the correct EMR folders Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and protect patient confidentiality at all times Coordinate with providers and clinical staff to support smooth patient flow and efficient daily operations Assist with administrative tasks such as scanning, faxing, emailing, and document management Support overall office upkeep, including maintaining a clean, organized front office, lobby, and shared spaces A few must-haves for
Medical Receptionists:
High school diploma or equivalent required; prior medical office or front desk experience strongly preferred Experience with EMR systems (Chirotouch preferred) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) Strong understanding of insurance verification, patient benefits, and reimbursement processes Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance guidelines preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first mindset Ability to multitask, stay organized, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment Professional phone etiquette and a positive, team-oriented attitude Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to handle confidential information with professionalism Why Work for Interventional Pain Institute?
