We are seeking a motivated, personable, and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our growing team at Physicians of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. If you enjoy working closely with physicians, learning the ins and outs of medical billing and coding, and thrive in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment, we would love to meet you. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming and efficient experience while supporting the clinical team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Patient registration: Greet patients warmly and collect accurate demographic and insurance information Appointment scheduling: Coordinate patient visits and manage provider calendars efficiently
Check-in/check-out:
Assist patients with portal registration and ensure smooth visit flow Phone management: Answer incoming calls, address patient inquiries, and provide clear information about services Insurance verification: Verify coverage and collaborate with billing partners Payment collection: Collect copays, process transactions, and assist with billing-related questions Technology use: Work within systems such as Athena, Availity, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Canva, and insurance portals
Confidentiality:
Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA and patient privacy standards
Multitasking:
Balance phones, scheduling, patient interaction, and administrative duties in a busy front office What we are looking for: Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to adapt at the front desk, including handling patient flow and collecting payments confidently Interest in learning medical billing and coding processes Experience with PHO programs or familiarity with coordinated care networks is a plus Prior experience in a medical receptionist or administrative healthcare role preferred Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare workflows Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail A team player who is also self-motivated and dependable This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to grow in a medical office setting, gain exposure to billing and coding, and work closely with providers in a collaborative environment.
