Our team specializes in Neurosurgery, Physiatry, Orthopaedic Spine Surgery, Interventional and Non-Interventional Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation - committed to excellence in patient care and clinical support. Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Medical Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our patients. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of medical office procedures. This role involves managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, handling medical records, and supporting clinical staff to ensure smooth daily operations. This part-time position is for Wednesday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm weekly. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally, providing exceptional customer service at the front desk. Schedule appointments accurately using electronic health record (EHR) system Verify patient insurance information and assist with health insurance inquiries to facilitate billing processes. Manage medical records by filing, retrieving, and maintaining confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Handle phone communications efficiently, including appointment confirmations and follow-up calls with patients. Assist with documentation review and ensure all patient information is correctly entered into EHR systems. Maintain a clean and organized reception area while adhering to clinical confidentiality policies. Qualifications Prior experience working in a medical office environment or healthcare setting is required. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as NextGen, Epic, or Athenahealth, is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of health insurance procedures Excellent communication skills with a focus on phone etiquette and patient service excellence. Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently Familiarity with clinical confidentiality policies and health information management standards is essential.
