Duties Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage patient check-in and check-out processes using dental-specific EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks Schedule appointments accurately, coordinate with clinical staff, and manage calendar updates to optimize clinic flow Verify patient insurance coverage, process claims, and handle medical collections with attention to detail in accordance with HIPAA regulations Maintain accurate medical records, review documentation for completeness, and ensure compliance with clinical confidentiality policies Answer multi-line phone systems professionally using proper phone etiquette; address patient inquiries promptly and redirect calls as necessary Assist with billing procedures including coding), medical billing, and documentation review to support accurate care plans and reimbursement processes Manage office supplies, file patient records systematically, and perform general clerical tasks such as data entry, typing, and filing Requirements Proven experience as a medical receptionist or front desk staff in a dental or healthcare setting with clinic experience preferred Strong knowledge of dental terminology, health insurance policies (Medicare, Medicaid), and electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Athenahealth or EMR/EHR management tools Familiarity with medical coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, medical billing processes, and documentation review procedures Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone communication and office management expertise Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) along with strong computer skills for data entry and record keeping Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively Ability to handle sensitive patient information confidentially while adhering to HIPAA guidelines Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, scheduling, and maintaining accurate medical records High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification in medical administration or office management is a plus Embark on a rewarding career where your dedication enhances patient experiences while supporting the seamless operation of our dental practice.
