8:00 AM-12:00 PM About the Position We are looking for an experienced, highly organized Dental Front Desk & Patient Accounts Specialist to join our team. This position is heavily focused on patient account management, dental insurance, billing, collections, and financial accuracy , while also supporting the day-to-day operations of the front desk. The ideal candidate is someone who understands that the front desk is the financial hub of a dental practice. You should be comfortable working with detailed patient ledgers, insurance claims, aging reports, treatment plans, and account balances, and you should take pride in keeping accounts accurate and current. Eaglesoft experience is
REQUIRED.
Candidates without significant hands-on Eaglesoft experience will not be considered. Key Responsibilities Patient Accounts & Accounting Maintain accurate patient accounts and ledgers in Eaglesoft Review patient accounts for accuracy and identify outstanding balances Post patient payments, insurance payments, adjustments, refunds, and account credits accurately Reconcile patient accounts and resolve discrepancies Monitor and manage outstanding patient balances Handle patient collections and communicate financial responsibilities clearly and professionally Review and follow up on aging accounts Run and analyze aging reports and take appropriate action on outstanding balances Maintain accurate documentation of account activity and collection efforts Assist with month-end financial and account reconciliation processes Dental Insurance & Claims Submit accurate dental insurance claims electronically and manually when necessary Review claims for accuracy prior to submission Track outstanding claims and follow up on unpaid or delayed claims Post insurance payments and accurately apply EOB/ERA information Research claim discrepancies, denials, downgrades, and underpayments Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status and benefits Maintain detailed knowledge of insurance plans, deductibles, maximums, waiting periods, and patient portions Identify insurance discrepancies and work to resolve them efficiently Treatment Plans & Financial Coordination Create and maintain accurate dental treatment plans in Eaglesoft Ensure treatment plans accurately reflect procedures, fees, insurance estimates, and patient portions Review treatment plans for financial accuracy before presenting them to patients Calculate and explain patient financial responsibilities Assist patients with understanding treatment costs, insurance estimates, and payment options Keep treatment plans current as treatment progresses Ensure financial arrangements are properly documented and followed Front Desk Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service and create a welcoming experience for patients Answer phones and assist patients with scheduling and general questions Coordinate patient appointments and maintain an efficient schedule Verify insurance benefits and eligibility Check patients in and out Collect copays, deductibles, and outstanding balances Maintain accurate patient demographic and insurance information Work closely with the clinical team to ensure smooth patient flow Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements
What We Are Looking For Required:
Significant experience working in a dental office front desk/business office Advanced, hands-on Eaglesoft experience is a MUST Strong experience managing dental patient accounts Extensive experience with dental insurance claims and claim submission Experience working aging reports and outstanding accounts Experience posting insurance payments and EOBs/ERAs Strong understanding of dental insurance and patient financial responsibility Experience creating and reviewing accurate dental treatment plans Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to identify account discrepancies and independently research solutions Professional and confident communication skills The ideal candidate will be particularly strong in accounting and financial management within a dental practice. This is not simply a traditional receptionist position. We are looking for someone who understands the numbers behind a dental practice and can confidently manage the financial side of the patient experience.
