Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and organized Front Desk/Medical Receptionist to join our small but but Podiatry team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while managing a variety of administrative and clinical support tasks. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help streamline daily operations, facilitate efficient patient flow, and uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism. Responsibilities Greet patients, visitors, and staff with enthusiasm, providing exceptional customer service and guiding them through check-in and check-out procedures Schedule appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth, ensuring accurate documentation and timely follow-up Verify patient insurance coverage, process payments, and handle medical billing including collections in compliance with HIPAA regulations Manage electronic health records (EHR) by reviewing documentation for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to clinical confidentiality policies Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, utilizing proper phone etiquette to address inquiries, schedule appointments, or direct calls appropriately Prepare and maintain medical records, files, and documentation review processes with precision using Microsoft Office tools and filing systems Assist with clinical administrative support tasks such as updating care plans, coding procedures with
CPT, ICD-9/10
codes, and supporting documentation review for billing accuracy Utilize EMR/EHR systems like eClinicalWorks or Meditech efficiently for data entry, appointment scheduling, and patient information management Support clinic operations by managing medical office supplies, maintaining a clean front desk area, and performing clerical duties Qualifications Prior experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment is highly preferred; podiatry experience is a plus Strong knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare billing and health information management practices Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or similar platforms; familiarity with electronic health records management is essential Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide outstanding patient service via phone and in person; bilingual abilities are advantageous Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), HIPAA compliance standards, and clinical confidentiality policies Demonstrated clerical experience including filing, document review, typing (10-key), and computer skills in Microsoft Office suite Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism Strong organizational skills with experience managing medical records, care plans, and health information documentation Join our team where your energy makes a difference!
