Summary:
Under the direction of the Director, greets employees, patients and customers upon arrival in the department. Assembles medical records / retrieves medical record for patient visits. Answers phones as needed. Assists in the tracking of all visits related to occupational / employee health services. Enters immunization data into the Employee Health Data Base. Assists with clerical functions to support the delivery of occupational / employee health and the treatment of work place injuries. Notifies Human Resources when new hires are cleared for work and when existing employees are cleared to return from a LOA. Compiles statistics for Director. Participates in performance improvement activities within department and hospital. Other duties as assigned.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED.
Experience:
One year experience in office/hospital setting preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Skills in organization and priority setting. Must be able to multi-task and complete assigned duties in an efficient and professional manner
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with office peers / other departments
  • Demonstrated ability to use a PC and associated software programs
  • Demonstrated customer service skills as evidenced through phone skills and one on one interactions.
  • Ability to respond to incoming calls, transcribe detailed and accurate messages
  • Ability to use sound interpersonal skills when interacting with patients and taking into consideration cultural background, linguistic skills and age of customer.
  • Ability to work independently and identify tasks that need to be completed
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Maintains information confidential (HIPAA)
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Ability to utilize responsive customer service skills when interacting and taking into consideration cultural background, linguistic skills and age of customers
  • Ability to work cooperatively with peers and other disciplines
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with peers and other interdisciplinary teams.
Working Conditions, Physical Environment and/or
Safety Requirements:
Physical ability including stooping, bending, kneeling, lifting, standing, walking and reaching. Physical ability involves lifting more than 10 lbs.
  • Experience in OR/Endo PAT registration required.
