Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a commitment to providing excellent patient service. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office, managing patient interactions, and supporting the administrative functions of our clinic. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes. Schedule appointments efficiently using EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth. Manage multi-line phone systems, addressing inquiries and directing calls appropriately. Verify insurance information and handle medical collections as necessary. Maintain accurate medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Review documentation for completeness and accuracy. Assist with medical billing processes and coordinate care plans as needed. Provide clerical support including filing, typing, and data entry using Microsoft Office applications. Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers to enhance patient service. Handle intake processes for new patients, ensuring all necessary information is collected accurately. Requirements Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical administrative support role is preferred. Familiarity with EHR systems such as Nextech and Modmed Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and medical coding practices (ICD coding). Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills are essential for this role. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Previous clinic or hospital experience is desirable but not mandatory.
