Job Description

SUMMARY A
Medical Receptionist is a valuable asset to an Ophthalmologist. As client-facing professional, you play a key role in representing the practice and providing excellent care to the patients during their visit. The Medical Receptionist is able to handle a wide range of duties. Our goal at Prestige Retina is to provide each patient with exceptional, personalized care. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Greeting patients, registering and checking in, answering phones, providing information and addressing the patients' concerns or questions.
  • Schedule, confirm, reschedule appointments, (including surgical scheduling) and remind patients of their upcoming visits.
  • Process patient payments, verify insurance information, and assist with billing and insurance claims.
  • Maintain and update patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality, often using the Electron Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Handle filing, data entry and other clerical tasks to support the medical office.
  • Keep the reception area clean and orderly, manage office supplies and coordinate with other healthcare staff.
  • Adhere to HIPPA and other privacy regulations to protect patient information. Essential Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills when interacting with patients, staff and healthcare professionals.
  • Familiarity with office software, including medical practice management software and patient portals.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • A warm, welcoming, and empathic demeanor to create a positive patient experience.
  • Meticulousness in handling patient information, appointments, and financial transactions. Education/Experience
  • A high school diploma or GED is required
  • 1-3-years' experience required
