Looking for an employee with a positive personality to join our Foot and Ankle Center in prime location in Chesterfield, Va 23112. Medical office experience is not necessary. As long as you have good work ethic with positive attitude and adaptability, we welcome all candidates! Full time is preferred but part time is position can be accommodated as well. The position will primarily include front desk responsibilities with some cross coverage in the clinic. You will need to work as a medical assistant with direct hand on with patients when extra help is needed. Our ideal candidate will have previous front office experience and have an interest in learning clinical tasks as well. In-depth knowledge of insurance verification, collecting payments, appointment scheduling, customer service and time management is a plus. The candidate must demonstrate a positive attitude, with professional demeanor and ethics.
Core Duties:
Welcome patients upon entry and direct patients throughout the office Register patients and complete their check-in and check-out Obtain, verify, and update patient demographics and insurance benefit Collect and process payments Review encounter forms to verify accuracy of transactions Answer multi-line telephones, triage incoming calls, take messages, provide information, and respond to inquires Obtain medical records from referring physician's Access hospital systems to get needed patient records (e.g. reports and images) Add new patient information into the EHR system Provide support services to patients, medical staff, and physicians Act as a liaison between our practice and referring provider offices and facilities Scan necessary documents into the EHR system Provide cross coverage as a medial assistant, working directly with patients and the doctor.
Requirements:
Ability to handle multi-line calls with phone calls with confidence and professionalism High school diploma or GED is required Excellent written and verbal communication skills is required Above average computer, printer, scanner, phone system knowledge is required Experience with Electronic Health Records systems is a plus Knowledge in medial insurance terminology is a plus Ability to multi-take and attention to detail is required Social perceptiveness and service oriented is required Medical office experience preferred but not required Minimum 1 year commitment is required Benefits Potential bonus after satisfactory completion of 90 days and after regular performance review Excellent opportunity to start a career in medial field and especially for gap year students preparing for medical school/nursing school/ PA school Hourly wages will vary depending on experience and educational level and other factors Small office, friendly environment, only work with one doctor.
