Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly organized, energetic and compassionate Medical Receptionist to be the point of contact for our busy pediatric office. This role requires exceptional multitasking, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage high-volume patient traffic and administrative tasks efficiently while maintaining patient confidentiality and welcoming and friendly atmosphere. At least 1-year medical office reception experience preferred. Duties include (but not limited to) Greet patients, check them in, and manage front-desk operations Answer phone calls and route messages to appropriate departments Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility through insurance portals or direct communication with carriers. Collect copays or outstanding balances. Update and maintain patient records in Practice Management systems Coordinate communication between patients and clinical staff Maintain a professional, clean, organized and welcoming front office environment. Follow HIPAA and facility-specific privacy procedures Perform other administrative duties as needed. Required Skills and Qualifications Hard skills Proficiency in EHR software and scheduling platforms Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification Ability to handle multi-line phone systems and office equipment Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality practices Soft skills Friendly, professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills Multitasking and time management in a fast-paced setting Attention to detail in data entry and patient records Ability to remain calm and courteous in high-pressure situations If you are a proactive individual with excellent communication skills and a passion for healthcare administration, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding position as a Medical Receptionist.
