Medication Aide:

The Level I Medication Aide is responsible for providing safe, compassionate, and dependable care to residents during the midnight shift. The L1MA assists residents with their daily needs, administers medications as authorized and trained, completes required documentation, monitors residents throughout the night, and maintains a safe, clean, and comfortable home environment. The L1MA is expected to treat every resident with dignity, respect, patience, and kindness while promoting independence and quality of life. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Medication Management Administer medications to residents in accordance with physician orders, facility policies, and applicable state regulations. Follow all medication administration procedures, including the proper right resident, right medication, right dose, right route, right time, and right documentation . Complete medication documentation accurately and promptly. Monitor residents for medication effectiveness, side effects, adverse reactions, or changes in condition and report concerns immediately to the appropriate supervisor or nurse. Ensure medications are stored, secured, labeled, and handled according to facility policy. Complete medication counts and other medication-related duties as assigned. Reorder medications and supplies as directed by facility procedures. Report medication errors, omissions, refusals, dropped medications, or other medication concerns immediately. Maintain confidentiality regarding all resident medication and health information. Overnight Resident Care Monitor residents throughout the shift and respond promptly to resident needs. Assist residents with toileting, personal care, repositioning, or other needs as required. Provide appropriate assistance to residents who wake during the night. Observe residents for changes in behavior, health, mood, or physical condition. Report significant changes in a resident's condition to the appropriate supervisor and follow facility notification procedures. Maintain a quiet, comfortable, and safe environment conducive to residents' rest. Follow individual resident care plans and established safety procedures. Safety and Emergency Responsibilities Maintain awareness of resident whereabouts and safety throughout the shift. Conduct required overnight safety checks according to facility policy. Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow the facility's emergency procedures. Contact 911 when appropriate and immediately notify management of emergencies or significant incidents. Follow fire, severe weather, evacuation, power outage, and other emergency procedures. Complete required incident and accident reports accurately and promptly. Housekeeping and Facility Responsibilities Maintain clean and orderly resident and common areas during the overnight shift. Complete assigned cleaning and housekeeping duties. Assist with laundry and other household duties as assigned. Prepare or assist with breakfast and morning preparations as directed. Ensure the kitchen and common areas are clean and ready for the day shift. Check that doors, appliances, and other areas of the facility are secure and safe according to facility procedures. Report maintenance, safety, or environmental concerns promptly. Documentation and Communication Complete all required shift documentation before the end of the shift. Review communication logs and other pertinent information at the beginning of the shift. Provide an accurate and thorough report to the incoming shift. Document resident incidents, behaviors, refusals, changes in condition, and other significant events. Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility information at all times. Qualifications Current Level I Medication Aide certification as required by the State of Missouri. Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred. Previous residential care, assisted living, or direct-care experience is preferred. Current CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification as required. Ability to read and follow medication orders, care plans, and facility policies. Ability to accurately complete required documentation. Ability to remain awake, alert, and attentive throughout the entire overnight shift. Ability to work independently while also communicating effectively with supervisors and other staff. Must demonstrate dependability, honesty, patience, and good judgment. Physical Requirements The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, which may include: Standing and walking for extended periods. Bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting. Assisting residents with transfers and mobility as required by their care plans. Responding quickly to resident needs and emergencies. Performing routine housekeeping and laundry duties. Maintaining the ability to remain alert and attentive throughout the midnight shift. Demonstrate reliability and arrive on time and prepared for each scheduled shift. Work cooperatively with all members of the My Place Residential Care team. Maintain a positive, respectful, and home-like environment for residents. Report concerns rather than ignoring or attempting to conceal problems.

Pay:

$15.50 - $16.50 per hour Expected hours: 16.0 - 32.0 per week
