In this vital role, you will assist in administering medications, providing personal care, and supporting residents' overall well-being within a senior living or healthcare facility. Your expertise will help ensure residents receive safe, respectful, and personalized care while maintaining compliance with all healthcare regulations and confidentiality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities through attentive caregiving and medication management. Duties Administer prescribed medications accurately following physician orders and facility protocols, including oral, topical, and injectable medications. Monitor residents' vital signs, health status, and response to medications, reporting any adverse reactions or concerns promptly. Assist residents with personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility support, and hygiene to promote independence and dignity. Assist with manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting or transferring residents safely using proper techniques and equipment. Observe safety procedures during activities like medication administration and patient handling to prevent injuries or accidents. Communicate clearly with residents about their care plans and medication routines to foster trust and understanding. Experience Prior assisted living experience or nursing home experience is highly preferred; experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus. Hands-on experience in hospital or acute care settings demonstrating proficiency in medication administration and patient care procedures. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and senior care best practices is essential for success in this role. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation of medical records and medication logs. Certification as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) through the State Board of Nursing or equivalent licensing authority is required; CPR and First Aid certifications are mandatory. Experience working with geriatric patients or those requiring memory care or dementia-specific support is highly valued. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting, manual handling, and maintaining proper body mechanics during resident transfers or mobility assistance.
