Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a pivotal paraprofessional role supporting students in a dynamic educational environment. This contract opportunity offers full-time hours, working Monday through Friday, providing essential coverage for a leave of absence. The position is needed immediately and is expected to continue until September 21st, 2026. The site is conveniently near Bear, DE, with responsibilities based onsite at a local high school.
Responsibilities:
Provide in-class and one-on-one support to students, assisting with academics, behavior, and personal needs as directed by educational staff. Foster an inclusive and engaging classroom atmosphere that promotes student well-being and learning. Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement individualized education or behavioral plans. Maintain accurate documentation and communication regarding student progress and incidents. Encourage independence while offering guidance for success in various classroom and school activities.
Qualifications:
Must hold and provide a valid Delaware Paraeducator Permit; candidates without this in hand will not be considered. Ability to commit to the assignment schedule of Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Demonstrated experience as a paraprofessional in a school setting is preferred. Willing and able to pay $85 for mandatory state-required CBC fingerprinting. If holding RBT credentials, be aware the district will not provide BCBA supervision or classify the role/pay as RBT.
