Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Bring your expertise to support students' growth and well-being in a contract position assisting in elementary school settings. This opportunity is based near Wilmington, DE, offering meaningful engagement throughout the academic year. You'll work onsite in an elementary environment, supporting students in two distinct roles: one position focuses on providing paraprofessional support during a full-year medical leave, for which a male paraprofessional is preferred based on current caseload considerations. The second role involves working within a STRIVE program, assisting a student with significant emotional needs; a background in therapeutic support is especially valued.
Qualifications & Experience:
Current Delaware Paraeducator Permit is required (pending permits not accepted; must submit documentation from the DEEDS portal if permit is pending). Experience as a paraprofessional in school settings preferred. For STRIVE program applicants, strong experience with therapeutic or emotional/behavioral support is highly desirable. Ability to successfully complete required CBC fingerprinting (candidate is responsible for the cost). Candidates holding RBT certification must provide for their own BCBA supervision outside school hours if they wish to maintain certification.
Key Duties:
Deliver day-to-day assistance to assigned students, supporting their individualized academic and emotional needs. Implement classroom routines and assist teachers in maintaining a positive educational environment. Collaborate with fellow staff to encourage optimal student development. Support integration of therapeutic or behavioral management strategies as needed.
