Behavioral Health Activities Specialist Start a Meaningful Career Helping Others Join our growing behavioral health team! We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, creative, and dependable Behavioral Health Activities Specialist to organize and lead meaningful activities for patients in our inpatient hospital. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, planning activities, and creating a positive environment. No professional certification or previous hospital experience is required. Training will be provided. Individuals with experience in recreation, education, childcare, senior care, community programs, customer service, behavioral health, or other people-focused environments are encouraged to apply. RBTs, behavioral health technicians, activity professionals, and candidates interested in beginning a career in mental health are also welcome. What You'll Do Organize and lead structured activities for patients. Facilitate arts and crafts, music, exercise, games, social activities, and other engaging programs. Encourage patients to participate in a positive, respectful, and supportive manner. Help create activities that promote social interaction, communication, healthy coping skills, confidence, and independence. Adapt activities based on patients' needs, interests, and abilities. Observe patient participation and communicate relevant information to the appropriate treatment team members. Complete basic documentation related to patient participation. Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming environment during activities. Prepare activity spaces, materials, equipment, and supplies. Collaborate with nursing, clinical staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary team. Follow hospital safety procedures, patient-rights requirements, and confidentiality standards. What We're Looking For High school diploma or equivalent required. College coursework or a degree in psychology, behavioral health, human services, recreation, education, occupational therapy, or a related field is welcome but not required. No professional certification is required. No previous hospital experience is required. Experience organizing activities or working with patients, children, older adults, or community groups is helpful but not required. RBT, behavioral health, mental health, or direct-care experience is a plus. Friendly, patient, compassionate, and respectful approach. Creativity and enthusiasm when working with individuals and groups. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Dependability and willingness to learn. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team. Commitment to patient safety, dignity, and confidentiality. Why Join Our Team?
