Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) to join our team. In this vital role, you will provide specialized support and oversight for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, ensuring they receive personalized care that promotes independence, growth, and community integration. Your expertise will help create a positive environment where clients feel valued, understood, and empowered to achieve their goals. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and monitor individualized service plans tailored to each client's unique needs and abilities. Provide direct support to clients with disabilities, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), personal care, and behavioral management strategies. Facilitate client participation in community activities, social events, and educational opportunities to promote social skills and independence. Collect and document data on client progress, behaviors, and service outcomes accurately and consistently. Collaborate with families, caregivers, healthcare providers, and team members to coordinate care plans and ensure comprehensive support. Assist with transportation needs using personal or agency-provided vehicles to support client outings and appointments. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to health protocols such as first aid and CPR procedures when necessary. Experience Prior experience working with individuals with autism, neurodevelopmental disorders, or cognitive disabilities is highly preferred. Knowledge of special education principles, behavior management techniques, and behavioral health practices is essential. Experience supporting clients with developmental disabilities in home or community settings is advantageous. Familiarity with American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication methods used by clients enhances service delivery. Demonstrated ability to operate standard passenger cars safely for client transportation purposes. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration are required. Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; ongoing training in behavior support or caregiving is a plus.
