Companion Feeding Hills, MA Apply Job Summary:
Peer Support is an ongoing service and supports designed to assist participants to acquire, maintain or improve the skills necessary to live in a community setting. This service provides supports necessary for the participant to develop the skills that enable them to become more independent, integrated into, and productive in their communities. Peer Support includes face to face interactions that are designed to promote ongoing engagement of persons covered under the waiver in addressing residual problems resulting from psychiatric and substance use disorders, and promoting the individuals strengths and abilities to continue improving development of natural supports, and maintenance of community living skills. Duties include but are not limited to: Assistance in daily management, social and emotional support, linkages to clinical and community resources, ongoing support keeping clients engaged by providing, flexible and continual long-term follow-up. This service enables the participant to retain or improve skills related to personal finance, health, shopping, and use of community resources, community safety, and other adaptive skills needed to live in the community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Be at least 18 years of age
Bilingual Spanish speaking a plus
Have a minimum of a one year\'s experience providing services to individuals with brain injuries/Mental Health/Addiction Recovery in the community.
Demonstrate ability to function as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
Have documented experience implementing cognitive/behavioral interventions developed by a clinician and utilized in community settings.
Other duties may be assigned.
