Internship Summary:
Come join Sweetser's team! Clinical Internship Opportunity! Rockport/Winterport This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the behavioral health field while working closely with a multidisciplinary team to support clients with mental health and/or substance use disorders. As an intern, you will assist with a variety of tasks that will enhance your knowledge and skills in behavioral health practice, including client assessments, treatment planning, and/or crisis intervention. This role offers the opportunity to learn about evidence-based practices, develop your clinical skills, and contribute to the overall mission of supporting individuals in achieving better mental health and well-being.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist with intake assessments, screening tools, and client follow-ups under the supervision of licensed professionals. Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring confidentiality. Provide supportive services to clients through group or individual sessions, as directed by licensed clinical staff, including psychoeducation and emotional support. Observe and assist in implementing treatment plans and behavioral health interventions under supervision. Assist with scheduling appointments, managing client caseloads, and helping clients navigate community resources and services. Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and training sessions to learn about best practices and emerging trends in behavioral health. Assist in identifying and responding to clients experiencing crisis situations, while following organizational protocols and procedures. Support research initiatives and assist with data collection and analysis to help evaluate the effectiveness of behavioral health programs.
