We are expanding our Peer Services Team and are seeking a passionate New York Certified Peer Specialist (NYCPS) to join us. Position Summary The NYCPS will use their own lived experience with mental health, substance use, or related life challenges to provide support, advocacy, and hope to individuals served. Services will be delivered in the client's home, in school, remotely, or within the community. Key Responsibilities Provide one-on-one peer support in the home, school, community, or remote setting Use shared lived experience to foster trust, empowerment, and personal recovery Support individuals in developing life skills, building natural supports, and navigating services or systems Assist clients in identifying personal goals and making informed decisions Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings as a peer support voice Maintain accurate documentation of services in accordance with OMH and agency standards Qualifications Personal lived experience with mental health, substance use, juvenile justice, foster care, special education, or related systems Ability to work independently while maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries Reliable internet access and ability to travel within the community as needed Strong written and verbal communication skills Experience working with youth or families preferred Familiarity with Medicaid or OMH programs a plus Job Type Part-time Flexible schedule Work is home and and community-based Benefits Competitive hourly pay Ongoing supervision and professional development Opportunities for peer networking and continuing education Supportive, mission-driven work culture If you are passionate about helping others and have the qualifications - we'd love to hear from you!
