Mental Health Technician
JOB SUMMARY
: The Mental Health Technician provides compassionate patient care and support as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team. Responsibilities include monitoring and documenting patient behavior, communicating observations to nursing staff, assisting with patient needs and emergencies, and helping maintain a safe, supportive therapeutic environment.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
: 1 year experience in behavioral health unit preferred. Knowledge of safety measures.
EDUCATION
: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY
CNA preferred; if no certificate at time of hire, must have CNA certification within 1 year of date of hire. Medical terminology and current BLS Certification are required. Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)
JOB SUMMARY
(overview of job): The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides compassionate, direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the CNA supports patients' comfort and personal needs, assists with delegated care, responds to emergencies, and maintains accurate documentation. The role requires strong teamwork, adaptability, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask and support other units when needed.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
: 1-3 years of experience in patient care setting.
EDUCATION
: High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Successful completion of a CNA program.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY
: Current certification as a nursing assistant. BLS certification required.
